Big Grad Resume Review

Event Status

Career and Professional Development

Meet fellow grad students, connect with alumni in your chosen field, and get real-world feedback to make your resume stand out from the crowd.

Whether you’re preparing for a career in software engineering or nonprofit management, data science or arts education, a resume review by professionals in your chosen field will significantly improve your chances of landing an interview.

Why?

  • Working professionals know which skills you’ll actually use on the job, and where you can learn them if they’re not part of your program
  • Hiring managers can tell you precisely what they look for when hiring new grads, and how your resume stacks up against others they receive
  • Alumni can tell you how best to present your academic achievements when transitioning to full-time work

In the process, you’ll connect with advanced degree alumni and fellow job-seekers and learn tips and tricks to help you in your job search.

What to bring:

  • 3 PRINTED copies of your current resume
  • 3 PRINTED copies of a job description for a role you’d like to apply to
  • Any questions you have and/or advice you’d like to share

How it works:

  • Students and alumni join career-based pods
  • Alumni and students review resumes and provide feedback
  • You come away with new contacts and new ideas for improving your job search documents!

Reviewer fields and employers will be added as they join.

This event is open to Master’s students, PhD students, and postdoctoral scholars in all fields and disciplines.
